DINER PIES

Sunday, Feb 15th, 2:00 PM Eastern

According to Ken Haedrich, dean of The Pie Academy, most great diner meals aren't fancy, but they sure do deliver on flavor! And this is especially true for pies, like the ones he remembers so fondly growing up in New Jersey, the diner capital of the country.

In this class - which he calls a "tribute class" to diner pies - Ken will walk us through the preparation of three un-fancy but decidedly delicious pies that any diner would be proud to feature in their display case.

We'll bake a creamy Brown Sugar Custard Pie with a gorgeous tan profile; a scrumptious double-crusted fruit pie made with frozen blueberries or cherries; and Shoofly Pie, a Pennsylvania Dutch tradition.

By the time class is over, says Ken, you'll be three pies smarter...and even more popular than you are now!

If you love great pies, you'll love what we have in store for you with this, our first pie class of 2026.

Words of praise for Ken's PIE ACADEMY

"Ken Haedrich has a gift for clearly and patiently explaining the basics, then leading you down a happy trail of variations, new inventions, and delicious departures. A true baker's delight."
