PEACHY KEEN: HAND PIES & POUND CAKE

Nothing says summer like a bag full of ripe, juicy peaches just a'sittin' on the kitchen counter waiting for you to step up and make some magic happen.

And happen it will in this 1 1/2-hour live class, starting with our tender Peach Mascarpone Pound Cake. With a velvety smooth crumb, blistered top crust and fresh peach glaze, this pound cake is a reputation maker, the sort of recipe that gets passed from friend to friend, and one generation to the next. 

But we're just getting started.  Fresh Peach Hand Pies are the next order of business, flaky, scaled-down pies that are such a pleasure to prepare. We spoon a big dollop of homemade filling onto small rounds of tender pasty - tender, thanks to the addition of cake flour - seal 'em up and bake until golden. We give them a heavy dusting of confectioners' sugar - or glaze, if you prefer - then try not to eat the whole batch in one sitting.
