Fall's here, time to get your tart game on because there's nothing quite like an attractive, delicious tart when company is coming.
In this class, Ken will introduce you to a couple of tarts - one 9-inch version, the other individual tarts - that every baker should have in his or her repertoire.
We'll start with soft pears, artfully arranged atop almond cream (also known as frangipane), and baked to perfection in a shortbread-like buttery pastry.
Using the same almond cream and pastry, and a smear of cherry preserves, we'll make irresistible Bakewell tarts, a traditional British favorite. Says Ken: "These are the sort of recipes I adore, one's that'll have you itching to get in the kitchen."
