German Chocolate Pie
Sunday, October 18th, 2:00 PM Eastern
We've all heard of German chocolate cake, right? And a good cake it is.
But did you know that savvy pie makers near and far are borrowing the cake's best ideas and turning them into decadently rich pies?
Indeed they are, and in this class you'll have a front row seat in Ken's kitchen as he puts together his version of a pie he says will make a splash no matter the season.
As Ken explains, it's something of a hybrid pie. Other than the pre-baked pastry crust, there's no baking involved. A velvety layer of chocolate pastry cream is smoothed in the crust and then topped with something like gooey pecan pie. Finish it off with a dusting of toasted coconut and you've arrived at the doors of pie heaven.
So won't you join us? With the holidays fast approaching, this would knock 'em dead at any gathering you're invited to.
Sound like your kind of pie? Great! Then we'll see you in class!
